SOPHIA HOUSE: Site
Outdoor recreation is available in great variety on the 262 acre property. There are fully accessible hunting blinds, a dock for fishing, and a golf cart to facilitate travel to the pond and on trails. An outdoor labyrinth has guide ropes for those with visual difficulties.
Wild life . . . deer, foxes, raccoons, opossums, turkeys, rabbits, and a variety of birds . . . abound in the Sophia House woods, which provide year-round sanctuary to all. Serenity Pond and the wetlands surrounding Beaver Creek give haven to waterfowl, beaver, fish and frogs. The changing seasons bring splashes of gold, red, and green in the mix of evergreen and hardwood trees; butterflies and a variety of wild flowers dot the forest floor.
